Wenatchee Valley College volleyball traveled to Ontario, Oregon, on Friday to take on Treasure Valley Community College. The Knights fell in three sets, 14-25, 20-25, and 13-25.

Although the final score was not what Wenatchee Valley was looking for, the Knights showed their strongest stretch of play in the second set, battling Treasure Valley to a 25-20 finish. From a coaching standpoint, the match showed areas where the Knights need to become more consistent, particularly in bringing the same level of energy, communication, and competitiveness from the beginning of the match through the final point.

Jieata Siatini-Williams led the Knights offensively with 14 kills, continuing to be a strong option at the net. Kaylee Lewis added five kills, while Marley Rains contributed four kills. Keira Newkirk finished with 12 assists and added a kill while hitting .500, while Isabelle Blossom recorded seven assists.

"As a coach, I know we are capable of playing at a much higher level than what we showed tonight," Head Coach Tashena Weatherman said. "There were individuals who came ready to compete and continued to battle regardless of the score, but we have to learn how to bring that mentality as an entire team. We cannot allow the energy around us or a slow start to dictate how we play. This is another opportunity for us to learn, grow, and figure out what it takes to compete consistently at this level."

The Knights will look to take the lessons from Friday's match back into the gym as they continue working toward becoming a more disciplined, confident, and consistent team.
