Get to Know WVC Head Volleyball Coach Tashena Weatherman

Growing up in Bountiful, Utah, Head Volleyball Coach Tashena Weatherman developed a passion for athletics early on, competing in volleyball, basketball, and track. She was part of state championship teams in both volleyball and track before continuing her athletic career at Big Bend Community College, where she played volleyball for two years. She later transferred to North Idaho College to play basketball, where she also met her husband.

Weatherman was inspired to pursue coaching by the coaches who believed in her and showed her that a coach's influence can extend far beyond the court. She spent the past three years coaching at Cascade High School in Leavenworth and also served as an assistant coach at Wenatchee Valley College during part of the 2025-26 volleyball season. Now entering her first season as a college head coach, she is focused on building a strong volleyball program centered on hard work, growth, and competitive excellence while creating a positive experience for her athletes that lasts beyond graduation.

Outside of coaching, Weatherman enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, staying active, reading, and continuing her education. Her family, especially her daughter, serves as a daily source of motivation. Her approach is reflected in one of her favorite quotes: "Success isn't given—it's earned through discipline, consistency, and the courage to keep going when things get hard."
