Volleyball Focuses on Growth After Spokane Falls Match

Last night, the Knights took on Spokane Falls, falling in three sets.

As a coach, one of the hardest things is watching your athletes work toward something and not get the results they want. But one thing I continue to remind myself is that there is so much more to coaching than wins and losses.

Every athlete on this roster brings something different to our program. My responsibility is to bring those individual strengths together and help them become a team that plays with confidence, purpose, and trust in one another.

Last night's match reminded us that talent alone isn't enough. We have to be willing to compete for every point, stay engaged when things aren't going our way, and find ways to respond when we're challenged.

I don't expect perfection from my athletes, but I do expect effort, resilience, and a willingness to fight for each other. Those are the things we can control, regardless of who is on the other side of the net.

There's still a lot of volleyball left to play, and I'm looking forward to seeing how this group responds.

On to the next. Go Knights!
