On November 7th, 2025, The Wenatchee Valley girls Volleyball team finished their season, not being able to make it to the playoffs. Despite having a "losing season" ending the season to a 1- 29, the girls have taken away many things like memories and learned a lot from the season and we're able to create some valuable relationships on and off the court.
Being able to talk to the girls, each has expressed their favorite memories from the season. Freshman
Eliza Smith, talked about the final bus ride home from Big Bend Community College as a tradition she wished they would've started earlier. "We only did it one time but the singing on the bus, that was definitely my favorite part and I think if we did it more we would've connected more" expressed Smith. She really wanted to show her gratitude for her teammates and the crowd at the home games, "I am so grateful for this experience, and all the fun memories that were created by all of you, and I was very grateful for the fans cheering loudly for us. It really helped create a better atmosphere."
Breanna Selga, also a Freshman, shared the same love for the bus ride home at their last game. "My favorite memory was the bus ride home from our last away game. It was just super fun and full of energy." Selga along with the rest of her team showed a lot of love to her team and the fans throughout the season and was very happy with how memorable the season was. "To my team, thank you for making this season very memorable and always finding ways to lift each other up," Selga, found ways to help her team succeed, especially in being willing to change positions in the middle of the season. From being a right-side hitter to a middle hitter at the end of the season She helped her teammates succeed in ways she saw fit.
Jaya Griffin, a Sophomore academically showed some love to how her team chose to celebrate points throughout the season, from pushing her teammates to the one being pushed she thought it something that hyped her team up during matches. "My favorite game memory is for sure all the pushing we did when we celebrated points no matter how often it happened. I was always taken by surprise when it happened. I feel like it helped the momentum!" A lot of the time during matches, Griffin was always jumping and pushing her fellow teammates to show them love and help bring the energy they needed. She also shared about how her teammates helped her throughout the season and cherished her time with her girls. "I am so beyond grateful I got to play with all of you! Although this season had its ups and downs, my team was the ups! I hold a special place in my heart for each of those girls."
The Knights might have not ended the season how they wanted but still put up good numbers at the end of the season. Taylor Hoggart led the team in digs with 283 at the end of the season.
Eliza Smith led the team in assists and aces, finishing with 223 assists and 20 aces.
Marley Rains had 129 kills on the season, leading her team in kills.
Kayliana Blackmore had the best hitting percentage on her team ending with a .215.
Ivana Zaldivar was the only player to be recognized. She was named, East Region Third Team.
All the girls enjoyed their time with their teammates and even if it wasn't how they wanted to end, they were all proud of each other on how they worked during the season.
