Erin Hardgrove brings more than 25 years of experience in sports medicine, health, wellness, and exercise science to the men's basketball program. A WVC faculty member for 18 years, she began as the college's athletic trainer and still fills that role when needed, giving her a firsthand understanding of what student-athletes face on the court and in the classroom. Today she teaches full-time in the exercise science program, including courses in Exercise Physiology, Anatomical Kinesiology, Personal Wellness, Health and Wellness and Fitness Lab.
Before WVC, Erin worked at other colleges, high schools and in the physical therapy clinic setting. Treating patients from age 8 to 92. In Boca Raton, Florida, she worked with many professional athletes, which taught her that success at every level comes down to hard work. Her passion is understanding how the body works, how injuries happen, and how to help athletes recover and stay healthy.
As faculty adviser, she is committed to helping players balance academics, health, and athletics, and she encourages them to ask questions and use every resource available.
Erin grew up in Hawaii and moved to Oregon where she attended Eastern Oregon University. She enjoys hiking, traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with her family. Erin heads home to the islands whenever she can, especially for some winter sunshine.
