Knight women start fast, trounce Spokane 69-39

Wenatchee, WA- Coming off of a disappointing finish in Wednesday's road contest at NIC, the Knights were anxious to get back on the floor and show their mettle Saturday against visiting Spokane.  The Knights ran out to a 16-3 lead through one quarter behind a swarming defense and a balanced attack, and never trailed as they jumped back into the win column.

First-year guard Maddie Godwin led the way for the Knights with 17 points and 9 rebounds in 31 minutes for the home team.  Sophomores Chasity Spady and Cariann Kunkel each chipped in double figures as well, scoring 15 and 10, respectively.

Allie Parnell and Faith Adams led the scoring attack for the Sasquatch with 12 apiece, but it wasn't enough on the afternoon as the Knights pressure, strong work on the boards and Knight points off turnovers proved too much for the visitors.

It's a quick turnaround as the Knights will face off with visiting Yakima Valley College on Monday to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day at 2pm at Smith Gymnasium.
