The WVC/Blue Mountain series starts off with a low scoring game for the first game of the series. The first team to score in this game is the knights with a single run in the top of the fourth inning. C. Henkel singled to score K. Shiroma. They score again to extend their small lead in the top of the seventh thanks to a hard hit by J. Engell forced an error that scored H. Henkel. Excellent defense by the knights and pitching by L. Sterkel leaves the first Blue Mountain runs to be scored in the bottom of the seventh. They score one run before the Knights bring L. Dickie to the mound to pitch. Blue Mountain scores another two runs in the bottom of the eighth leaving the score 2-3 Timberwolves and forcing the Knights to produce runs in the last inning. J. Engell does just that for the Knights hitting a double that score both N. Fennema and C. Perlinski to give the Knights a 4-3 lead. A quick three outs by the Knights gives them the first win of the series with a final score of 4-3.
After a hard win in game one of the Blue Mountain series the Knights head into game two. M. Emery-Henderson, with a home run, scores the first run of the game for the Knights in the top of the second inning. The Timberwolves scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning leaving the score of the game 1-2 Timberwolves. N. Fennema with a sacrifice ground ball to the pitcher ties up the game by scoring D. Brown. Good defense by both teams leaves the score of the game 2-2 until the bottom of the fifth inning where the Timberwolves score one. The Knights came back to once again tie up the game in the top of the seventh inning on a single from C. Kenkel that scored J. Engell. In the bottom of the eighth the Timberwolves scored 5. The Knights with an attempt to come back in the top of the ninth inning, scored another two runs and a triple from K. Shiroma that scored J. Engell and a ground out from D. Brown to score K. Shiroma.
Splitting the first half of the series, the Knights head into game three of the Blue Mountain series at WVC. With C. Snow in the circle the Knights held the Timberwolves, keeping the game scoreless until the sixth inning. The Timberwolves scored two runs before the Knights put T. Gaither on the mound to close out the inning. The Timberwolves scored again in the top of the seventh making the score 7-0 and forcing the Knights to put J. Votipka on the mound. The Knights scored in the bottom of the eighth on a double from S. Habuto that scored S. Bryant. T. Mauer on the mound to close out the game for the Knights keeps the score the same for a final score of 1-7 Timberwolves.
Needing a win here to tie the series the Knights go into game four of the series with a strong start. The Timberwolves were the first team to score, scoring one run in the top of the first inning. The Knights come back strong though with a six-run inning. C. Henkel starts off the scoring streak with a single that scores K. Shiroma. J. Engell with another single to score D. Brown. And S. Bryant with a third single in a row to score C. Henkel. B. Casillo with a ground out RBI that scored R. Moore for the fourth run of the inning. J. Engell scores on a balk from the pitcher, and H. Sagdal brings in the last run of the inning with a sacrifice fly that scores S. Bryant. The Knights score the next runs of the game in the bottom of the third inning. B. Castillo flies out for a sacrifice fly to score R. Moore and move J. Engell to third who scores on a passed ball from the catcher leaving the score 1-8 at the end of the third inning. The Knights scored again in the bottom of the fourth inning with another four runs. C. Jenkel singles to score A. Roberts followed by an RBI walk from R. Moore that scored K. Shiroma. J. Engell singled to score K. Cabral and S. Bryant with a sacrifice fly scored by C. Henkel for the last run of the inning. Good defense on both sides of the field leaves the score remaining the same until the 7th inning with a final score of 12-1.
